Tobacco, Proposition 29 and the War on Cancer

On June 5, California voters will decide whether or not to pass Proposition 29, which would add $1 to the cost of a pack of cigarettes. With that initiative as a backdrop, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center will host a symposium about the status of tobacco and the 40-year-long fight to find a cure for cancer. John P. Pierce, professor of family and preventive medicine, Sam M. Walton Chair for Cancer Research, University of California San Diego, and Robert K.
