Global Health Action Grants

Program

The Global Health Action Grants support a variety of on- and off-campus student-driven activities with the potential to raise awareness, impact policy, and build capacity. The Global Health Action Grants are funded by the USC Institute for Global Health (IGH).

Eligibility

All USC undergraduate, graduate, and pre-doctoral students are eligible to receive rapid response funds. Students who will be completing their studies prior to the completion of their campaign/event are not eligible to apply. Applicants should exhibit strong organizational commitment and intention to complete a student driven project or event.

Requirements

To apply for funding students must submit the application form, a budget, and a letter of intent with budget justification. Students will blog about their experience on the Global Health Blog and upon after completion of the project, recipients are required to submit a 5-10 page report, a brief summary of their campaign/event and its impact on the USC community and, if appropriate, external partners.

Details

Students can either work independently or with a student organization. Global Health Action Grants can be used for a variety of purposes including but not limited to: conference travel, event sponsorship, and on campus advocacy campaigns. Preference will be given to student projects that directly impact USC students and increase global health awareness at USC. The program includes up to $5,000 of support for development and implementation of campaigns or events.
