Achieving the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control’s potential by investing in national capacity

This publication co-authored by USC Institute for Global Health Directors Jonathan Samet and Heather Wipfli examine the international tobacco control community that now refocuses its efforts on national capacity building and ensures that individual countries have the knowledge, tools, data, people, and organizations needed to implement the convention and develop sustained tobacco control programs. This paper provides a model of national tobacco control capacity and offers a prioritized agenda for action.
