Professor Laura Ferguson was invited to speak at the “A Promise Renewed for the Americas: Reducing Inequities in Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health” conference in Panama this month. The conference was organized by a range of United Nations agencies, development banks, bilateral donors and regional initiatives. Participants included senior-level representatives from governments, multilateral and bilateral organizations, civil society, foundations, universities, faith-based organizations, representatives of the private sector and more. The overall goal of the meeting was to develop a framework for action and accountability and to generate a new region-wide commitment to reducing inequities in health. Professor Ferguson presented in Spanish on how to use regional human rights frameworks to address women’s health and children’s health in the Americas. More information »
