Professor Laura Ferguson attends World Health Organization Meeting on the Evidence of Human Rights Impacts on Health in Geneva

Professor Laura Ferguson traveled to Geneva to participate in a World Health Organization meeting entitled “Evidence of Human Rights Impact on Health: Successes, Challenges, and Next Steps.” The aim of the consultation was to discuss how to build the evidence base regarding the impact of human rights on health outcomes, using lessons learnt from the recent publication Women’s and Children’s Health Evidence of Impact of Human Rights to which Professors Ferguson and Gruskin both contributed. Professor Ferguson spoke as a panelist to highlight opportunities for moving forward research in this area. Meeting participants included representatives from United Nations agencies and country missions as well as academia and non governmental organizations from across the globe.
