Expert group convenes on child mortality guidance

In early April Dr. Ferguson attended the expert group meeting on the draft of the “Technical Guidance on the Application of a Human Rights-Based Approach to the implementation of policies and programmes to reduce and eliminate preventable mortality and morbidity of children under 5 years of age.” The draft Technical Guidance was reviewed by the 26 experts in attendance from all regions of the world representing UN agencies, international human rights monitoring mechanisms, academia and civil society. The final Technical Guidance will be submitted to the UN Human Rights Council in June.
