Orientations and Identities: Human Rights on the Global Stage Workshop

The workshop “Orientations and Identities: Sexuality and Human Rights on the Global Stage” took place May 28-30, 2014, and was hosted by the University of Southern California Program on Global Health & Human Rights, Institute for Global Health and Department of Preventive Medicine, along with the following groups: La Trobe University in Australia; the University of California, Los Angeles, Williams Institute, Health and Human Rights Law Project, School of Law, and Burkle Center for International Relations; the Occidental College Young Fund Initiative; and the University of California, Irvine, School of Law. The workshop brought together leading scholars and practitioners working at the intersection of sexuality, health, human rights, international relations and development, and included a number of side events such as the City of West Hollywood’s “Sexuality and Human Rights on the Global Stage” Human Rights Speaker Series event.
