This month the WHO published the first module of “Reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health and human rights: a toolbox for examining laws, regulations and policies.” The result of a decade-long collaboration, the first module has an explicit focus on sexual and reproductive health. Professor Sofia Gruskin served as the key academic partner for the life of the project which included field testing in countries in each region of the world, publication of peer-reviewed publications and presentation of the approach and methodology at numerous academic and political conferences. Plans are already underway for adapting the methodology to encompass newborn and child health, with plans for publication in early 2015. See the module »
