New York UNDP meeting focuses on HIV, human rights and law

Professor Sofia Gruskin traveled to New York as a member of the guidance group for a Global Commission on HIV and the Law stocktaking exercise hosted by the United Nations Development Program. Two years since the launch of the Global Commission report, UNDP hosted the meeting to establish a framework for determining the effectiveness of the Commission’s work in facilitating or impeding AIDS responses. Professor Gruskin’s participation also contributes to the work of the Program on Global Health & Human Right’s recent grant, “Strengthening Regional and National Legislative Environments to Support the Enjoyment of Human Rights of LGBT People and Women and Girls Affected by HIV and AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa.”
