Kids who vape 4x more likely to smoke tobacco, according to new JAMA study

A new study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Tuesday, finds teenagers who have used e-cigarettes are more likely to at least sample tobacco cigarettes, cigars or hookahs, according to co-author Adam Leventhal, associate professor and director of the USC Health, Emotion, & Addiction Laboratory at the Keck School of Medicine. Institute for Global Health Director Jonathan Samet joined the discussion with AirTalk’s Larry Mantle on Tuesday in light of the state legislature’s latest considerations surrounding e-cigarette regulation.
