USC Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science Seminar Series Presents “The Global War on Tobacco: Mapping the World’s First Public Health Treaty,” by USC Institute for Global Health Associate Director Heather Wipfli.
The tobacco industry has capitalized on numerous elements of globalization to expand into countries where effective tobacco control programs are not in place. As a consequence, tobacco is currently the leading cause of preventable death in the world. Come listen to the engaging story of how public health professionals and institutions created the first-ever global health treaty to fight it.
