The USC Institute for Global Health is a campus-wide focal point dedicated to enhancing interdisciplinary activities and research related to emerging global health issues. In partnership with faculty and students from schools across the university, the Institute fulfills its aim to improve global health by educating future and current global health leaders, carrying out trans-disciplinary research, and assuring that the evidence collected informs policy and practice to make a difference.
Job Description
The USC Institute for Global Health is searching for an enthusiastic undergraduate USC student intern for the for the 2016-2017 academic year, with the possibility to begin working this summer and continue on, if desired. This position will entail working directly with Institute faculty and staff on programs, projects and research. Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to, assisting with lecture series events, compiling literature reviews for new and ongoing research, supporting student-run activities and other general administrative duties. This is a great opportunity for students interested in global health to gain meaningful, hands-on leadership experience as well as to work closely with experts in the field.
Qualifications
Student intern candidates should be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about global health issues, as well as responsible, professional and proactive with strong leadership skills. Early undergraduate students are preferred applicants, but all USC undergraduates (of any discipline) are invited to apply. Applicants should have interest or skills in communications (writing, web content management, social media, design, video editing, etc.).
Position Details
The position will require a time commitment of about 10-15 hours a week and is paid. The position would begin with initial training at the end of the Summer 2016 semester with work beginning in the Fall 2016 semester.
