At the biennial Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights in Vietnam Nov. 27-30, Sofia Gruskin presented to more than 1,000 attendees at a plenary session on strengthening justice systems for sexual and reproductive health and rights.Her talk emphasized the need to move beyond concepts and slogans to collective action moving beyond our geographic, topical and disciplinary silos in these complicated times.
The overall goal of the conference was to rethink policies and practices to ensure marginalized and disadvantaged people are center-stage in regional and national responses. In order to bring about the Sustainable Development Goals’ promise of “nobody” left behind, the conference emphasized the need to work together towards justice in sexual and reproductive health moving forward.
