Ian Henry is the Legal Fellow at the Program on Global Health & Human Rights.
Mr. Henry earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and his B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College. An international human rights lawyer, Mr. Henry focuses on improving health systems and programming at the international, regional, and national levels, often working with the team at the intersection of human rights and global health with institutions at the forefront of global policy processes. He has conducted research and analysis focused on improving access to HIV/AIDS treatment and services, sexual and reproductive health and rights, human rights and universal health coverage, and issues of informed consent. Mr. Henry has also provided analysis of complex issues engaging multiple legal systems and concurrent jurisdiction of domestic and international statutes and laws for international criminal tribunals, seeking justice for genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and terrorism. During law school, he also helped represent asylum seekers and refugees seeking resettlement.
