Beatrice Maina received her Master of Arts degree in Population Studies from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and has a B.Ed in Economics and Mathematics from Kenyatta University, Kenya. In 2016, Beatrice received an award to pursue her PhD studies from the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) and is now a student within the School of Public Health, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Her PhD research focuses on “Investigating the social co-construction of masculinity and sexual development among very young male adolescents in Korogocho urban slums in Nairobi, Kenya”.
Beatrice is also a researcher with the African Population and Health Research Center in Nairobi, Kenya where she has been involved in design and implementation of several projects on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, specifically focusing on very young adolescents.
