Bachelor of Science Candidate – Global Health
Danielle Lee, a global health major, was awarded the JSI International Immersion Fellowship in her senior year. She led a program in Maputo, Mozambique, with African Millennium Foundation’s partner, Reencontro, in the summer of 2014. Working with Olinda Mugabe, the founder of Reencontro, and project coordinators, she implemented a health education program for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. She also worked at Maputo Central Hospital learning about prevalent health issues from physicians and nurses. The experience motivated her to pursue medicine in the future as a physician. She was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in 2015 when she graduated, and is headed to Thailand to instruct students outside Bangkok.
