10/16/17 – Planetary Health: Human Health Impacts of Environmental Change (9/26/2017) - In this USC Global Health Lecture Series event, Christopher Golden, associate director of the research consortium Planetary Health Alliance, presented a discussion of planetary health, an emergent field that characterizes the human health impacts of broad, rapidly accelerating environmental change.

03/03/17 – Facing (Political) Backlash: Using School-based Intervention Studies to Promote Young Brazilians’ Health & Rights (2/17/2017) - Brazil has been internationally recognized for its successful, rights-based approach to HIV/AIDS. Now, unexpectedly, the country has an emblematic case of backlash. In this lecture, Vera Paiva, professor of social psychology and preventive medicine at University of São Paulo, will describe more recent sociopolitical shifts, as well as present results from an intervention study that tested the acceptability and effects of a multicultural human rights approach.

2016 USC Global Health Case Competition 02/14/17 – 2017 USC Global Health Case Competition (12/22/2016) - A case competition is a competitive exercise for students to creatively address a challenge within a limited timeframe. The annual USC Global Health Case Competition brings together teams of students from all disciplines to tackle a critical global health challenge.
Los Angeles Global Health Conference 01/28/17 – Los Angeles Global Health Conference (7/27/2016) - The Los Angeles Global Health Conference (LAGHC) is an annual global health conference hosted in Southern California. Organized by students from local universities including UCLA, USC and Claremont University, LAGHC seeks to educate, connect and engage members of the Los Angeles community in addressing the health disparities both in our backyards and around the world.
