An academic surgeon at USC, Magee treats complex surgical cases, mentors trainees, conducts interdisciplinary research and translates projects in regions around the world. The son of Operation Smile’s founders, he witnessed at a young age the challenges children with deformities face in developing countries where access to safe surgery is limited. These experiences led to a lifelong conviction to serve children and disrupt surgical inequality.

This event included the USC Global Health Case Competition certificate ceremony and finalist announcement.

This talk was part of the 2016-2017 USC Global Health Lecture Series and was co-hosted by the USC Institute for Global Health, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles & Operation Smile.
