Building on our globally recognized strengths in establishing equitable and sustainable partnerships, deep expertise in addressing critical areas of inequalities in global health, and adherence to human rights norms and standards, our new 2025-2030 Strategic Plan is a forward-looking framework designed to meet our rapidly changing global health landscape with clarity, courage, and purpose. The 2025-30 Strategy engages the IIGH pillars of research, education and policy across three vital areas:
1.Sexuality, Sexual and Reproductive Health
2.Climate and Sustainability; and
3.Healthy Longevity.
An Integrated Approach
The Institute takes an integrated approach to our focus areas, recognizing their natural intersections and alignments. At IIGH, we base our approach within a continuum of research, education and policy, engaging traditional public health players, as well as the broader disciplines, sectors, and institutions that significantly affect health outcomes. We strive to better connect the worlds of academia, learning, policy, and community, with explicit attention to locally defined priorities and evidence-based practices.
Strategic Lenses
Each topical area noted above is increasingly impacted by methodological challenges resulting from larger geopolitical currents and priorities. IIGH is well-placed to bring our strengths and partnerships to help address health inequalities in this moment using three strategic lenses:
- Digitization;
- Data and Measurement; and
- Global Governance.
Human Rights and Gender Equality
Embedded across each of our intersecting focus areas and strategic lenses is a deep commitment to human rights and gender equality. Indeed, both human rights and gender equality are central to our DNA and inform every part of our work.
